School Fundraising Ideas

Helping you raise money to support your teachers and kids

something other than a bake sale, thanks

I would like to suggest trying fundraising discount cards. They are beneficial to the school(raising funds), the merchants on the cards (they get new patrons by offering a discount), and the consumers (for $10 they are able to save a considerable amount of money).

I have written many articles at http://www.easyfundraisingcards.com/blog… outlining some of the benefits and also downfalls of fundraisers like candy bar sale, candles, cookie dough, online fundraising (they make it sound so easy don’t they?), and articles about fundraising in a recession.

Find a Fundraising company that does all the work for you except for actually selling the cards and one that does not charge you anything upfront, lets you pay from profits.

To make $10,000 you would need to sell 1200 cards which you would be able to buy for $2,000 and then sell them for $10 ($12,000). Most schools can average over 2 cards per student.

A card we did with an 300 student elementary school in California sold 750 cards. With about 580 cards sold before they even arrived. The person in charge, did spend a little time working with me to make sure the card was good, spent some time passing out our sales fliers, and then also collecting money and handing out cards. But this was less time than she would have spent on any other fundraiser.

I encourage you to visit our blog and read through our articles. If it seems like something that might interest you, just request more information and we would be happy to discuss your fundraising needs.

Regards,
Mark South

You can go to a fast food chains/restaurants and ask the manager if they do fundraising for schools/ groups. You receive a certain percentage of their revenue from each purchase that brought along a flier about the fundraiser. Try Pat& Oscars or Rubios. I am sure that there are others who do the same.
Since summer is coming soon, you can have a car wash.

Have a second hand sale. You get each parent to donate some thing they do not want, than you have a sale, may be on a Saturday. You can make lots of money, people donate all sorts of things, china, clothes, toys and if some want to bake as well great. Or there is the guessing the amount of jelly beans in the big jar at a $1 a go, the prize the jar of jelly beans. Or you get together and put on a play but that is a lot of work.
    Good Luck

    Hey Jackie

Ok here are a few ideas to the ones already listed:

    - A sports event between the teachers and students
    - Selling cookie dough, it sells easy and worked for my baseball team
    - Flower deliveries to people in the school.
    - Talent show getting the students and local bands/comedians to perform.

    Good luck with your fundraising

Depending on what your needs are, the Adopt-A-Classroom program can be helpful. It’s a 501c3 nonprofit organization that enables the community to make tax-deductible donations to a classroom in order for the teacher to purchase classroom materials. Teachers find that this type of classroom grant results in greater impact on teacher and classroom morale, as well as strengthened community involvement. Anyone can donate to any teacher, anywhere in the country through AdoptAClassroom.org.
