I’m looking for fun, creative ideas for school fundraisers. I’m tired of all the fundraisers being candy bars, cookie dough, and junk. What ideas have worked at your school?
To tell you the truth… car washes. EASY & 100% profit! Fathers and children love to help!
You can divide up the school into primary & intermediate grades or just 2 teams & have it on the school playground or @ a local gas station twice in one month. Sat in the fall is a great time.
Here’s the trick! Sell the tickets in advance. Have the dates of the car wash (Valid 10/ 20 or 10/27), the address & the time. (Many folks will buy these to just donate the $ & many get busy or just forget)
Another good fun raiser is Scholastic Books during parent-teacher conference days, but it depends on the school population. Some parents and neighbors are more willing to pay $4 for a car wash than a book. I like the car wash because it is student body as well as parent involved.

When I was in school we did a fund raiser with this company that sends environmental awareness tshirts. It seemed to work well. I can’t remember the name or find the site (it’s been quite a while) but here’s a link I found where you can at least get ideas.

You can also try having the kids make stuff- like jewelry, etc and then sell the stuff the kids make.

hmmm, no junk food? thats a bit trickier….. at our school we have like a charity week where each year competes against each other to raise most money for charity. most people do bun sales n things like that, but some people do guess the teddie’s name competitions, tombola type things, those find the treasure sort of grid things- only they changed it to which teacher stole the cookies, or something like that, erm…. car washing, card sales, the whole school did a sponsored 10 mile walk last year, o- n splat the teacher- that’s always really popular lol

At this time of year it’s usually a great fundraiser if you sell something that people can look to give as Christmas gifts… I do fundraisers and just set up a cheerleading squad at a university – they’re really excited! With my candle fundraiser program the organization earns 38-40% profit! If you would like to hear more about it please just ask. Everyone loves candles so sales are usually really high with candle fundraising.

If you are looking for a healthy fundraiser that is generating a lot of excitement, consider RightResponse first aid kits. They start at $10, they are so practical, high quality and the best part is there are three ways to earn profits. Much better than cookie dough, cookies, magazines, popcorn. You could contact diane.gibson@rightresponse.com for more information.
