School Fundraising Ideas

Helping you raise money to support your teachers and kids

I’m in class council at my high school and we want to make a difference for the Haiti earthquake victims! Our president thought of doing a t-shirt and giving proceeds to red cross or directly, but I think that takes too much time and capital..Any fundraising ideas whether it be a product or service?

You are old enough to start a Red Cross Youth chapter at your school, to get involved with more Red Cross activities than just Haiti. Check out http://www.redcrossyouth.org and bring it to the attention of your guidance counselor and advisor. Then find your local Red Cross chapter at http://www.redcross.org, and contact their Development (fundraising) person. They can brainstorm with you.

Good luck!

You could get people to bring in cakes and do a cake sale at break or lunch or you could do a sponsored silence or run or something, or you could do something like pay 50p to guess how many sweets in the jar etc. Or you could try and do a non uniform day where everyone pays £1 to not wear uniform and give the proceeds (that’s if you usually wear uniform). Or you could get guys to dress up as girls and do a talent show or something like that and then people could pay a pound to watch. Or you could just simply ask for donations.
    I hope that helps :S (:

Try doing an earth friendly fundraiser. Most of them are free to start, don’t take too much time, and are pretty easy to do.

    Hey Tati

We have a fundraising campaign designed and underway for Haiti already! We’re looking to help out Haiti too and we’re looking for groups! This fundraising campaign would be great for schools.

We’re giving away our Victory cards to qualified groups. It’s simple to raise money, it just needs people to do it.

Check the links they describe the whole thing

This fundraising campaign is underway now. If you have a question drop a comment or send us an email through the website.

Good luck and best of luck.
They’re in need and your stepping up to the plate for them!

Charity for natural disasters is an admirable endeavor. Just be cautious. There is an article on my blog by Tom Newsome that outlines how that effort should be done. Go to http://www.fundraisingfun101.blogspot.com to review the article.

Being a teacher, we were asked to come up with an idea for the school. I came up with the idea called "HATS for Haiti." The kids could wear a hat for the entire day by bringing in a dollar to school. I know its not much, but every cent counts, especially to purchase food and medicine. I hope this may help someone else. Please lend out a helping hand if you can.

One thing that has worked in the past for me and that I was thinking about doing was a penny rush thing. each classroom competes each other to bring in some small change. if your school is like mine we don’t have a homeroom so it will be for blocks that’s what I really want to do.
