School Fundraising Ideas

Helping you raise money to support your teachers and kids

Archive for October, 2009

I’m looking for ideas that would be good for the current economy.

I’ve seen schools that do fundraising auctions or garage sales. Then people can donate their things (and get rid of things they don’t need) while other people can find things that they need/want and even haggle prices.

I know that probably doesn’t help you out a lot, but consider it.

We are looking to help kids from going house to house and going to one centralized location to keep them save. We are planning to have plenty of candy, food, games, and rides but we need help raising the money for this event.

why don’t you want them to go trick-or-treating? if they’re in a large group and parents go with them and they don’t approach doors without decorations, and they know to scream if anything bad happens, they’re perfectly safe. i doubt any kids will want to go to your event, they’ll want to be out trick-or-treating. if they do go, they’ll stay for a while and then trick or treat. but fundraising ideas … get parents to pay when they sign their kids in, before the event have bake sales. that kind of thing.

What was the big prize item that everyone tried to sell enough items for? What was the biggest prize you ever won?

I believe it was a mini fridge.
The biggest prize I ever won was the pizza party.

i am in a high school group of 8 freshmen and sophomores working on a group promoting water conservation. In this group we are also looking to help the thirsty. we are buying special filtering water bottles and shipping them to kenya africa do they’d have clean disease and bacteria free water ! Unfortunately, we have no money and the bottles and shipping is extremely expensive so we need major fundraiser ideas.

I am the fundraising director and I need help.
NO car washes
NO dog washes
because were promoting water conservation

Any ideas ?

raffles & bake sales & garage sales aren’t very popular in our area.
So . . . any cheap ideas. I say cheap because we have almost no money now as we are a new group.

Thank you all ideas are helpful ! ! !

p.s – i go to a small private school (7 – 12) consisting of 290 people just incase that helps

I was in the Environmental Action club last year, and we made rain barrels and sold them for 50 dollars each. It turned out to be a huge success. We had the old barrels donated to us, and it worked out really well. We all got together, made them, then sold them, and got a good profit. We’re going to use this profit to put solar panels on our high school.
