School Fundraising Ideas

Helping you raise money to support your teachers and kids

The song reached the Irish Charts and raised awareness for the Bluebell ABA School.
The Bluebell ABA pre-school for autistic children, the only such school in Limerick, was set up by the parents of autistic children to provide one to one care and education. Autism is a disorder of brain function that appears early in life, generally before the age of three. Children with autism have problems with social interaction, communication, imagination and behaviour.
ABA approach to learning we give these children the tools to understanding both themselves and others around them. Each child in the school has his/her own teacher who creates for them a tailor-made plan. They understand how to interact with autistic children & have had significant success in improving communication and behaviour with their pupils. The school is the only one of its kind in County Limerick, currently operating from a rented house (€1000 pm) and caters at present for six pupils. There is however a long waiting list for a place as they are the only school to meet the needs of children with autism in the Limerick area. The school does not receive state funding and its future is constantly in the balance. The reason for the continued existence of the school is the constant fundraising by parents.
Despite the small number of children, the school is full of inspiring stories, displaying how this type of care greatly benefits the children attending. All proceeds of the song wll help towards the running of the school in Limerick.

Our goal is to construct a building for the local Primary School consisting of three classrooms. Currently, the students are taught in classrooms made of corn stalks with dirt floors and desks that are in serious disrepair. As the school consists of four grade levels of 101 students, it qualifies as an official school yet each year, for the past six years since its founding, the school is neglected and government funding is delayed until the next year. In a country where it is not yet possible for every child to be educated due to schools being inaccessible, the villagers are aware of how special their school is and how fortunate they are to be able to give their children an education from well trained educators. All they lack is a safe, clean, comfortable learning space. Although they do not have the financial resources to achieve this on their own, the community has pledged to contribute a considerable amount of materials and labor.

Thank you for watching.

If you wish to donate please visit https www.peacecorps.gov and donate to Kristin Habeck’s project (# 685-098) to Construct a Primary School, in her village in Senegal, Africa.
