What is Bunco?
A social dice game involving 100% luck and no skill (there are no decisions to be made), scoring, and a simple set of rules.
What is Bunco for Breast Cancer?
A fundraising event that raises awareness and money for Breast Cancer research.
Here’s how my Bunco for Breast Cancers fundraisers work:
Scheduling Buncos
I have been posting information on Facebook, and spreading the word about Bunco for Breast Cancer events. Once people message me or ask me to send them information I send them an email along with the PowerPoint, and Host Prize Donation Letter.
Supplies
I designed and printed my own score cards and us/them cards with a fun pink ribbon graphic.
I bought the boa on sale in the children’s department.
A scrub shop in my home town donated pink ribbon pencils with their website printed on them.
I had a table set up with photos from my previous walk, my donation vase, a list of all of the prize donors. I also had a sign up sheet on a clipboard for players to put their name and email if they would like to receive my monthly newsletter that I plan to send out.
Prizes
All prizes were donated from local businesses. I went to my favorite places around town, explained my idea, and handed them the Prize Donation letter. I have received $10 gift certificates, $20 gift certificates, plant from a florist, candy from a candy shop, etc… In addition I send information to the hosts if they would like to try to receive donated items.
